The Sun is getting hotter and Earth is heating up. All humans, along with animals and plants, evacuate the world.

All of the robots remain on Earth. Astro becomes The Robot President.

In order to save Earth a nuclear bomb must be flown into the Sun. Astro flies the rocket ship carrying the bomb. After the bomb is launched it crashes into a meteor. Astro sacrifices his life by guiding the bomb into the Sun.

The Sun returns to normal and all of humankind returns to Earth. This is One of those Rare Ones Anime Fans Heard About Or Read Somewhere About This episode, This is One of The episodes that never made it to the U.S.A. From The Original Series, Truthfully I forgotten About this episode, It was Subbed some time ago..and put on the Shelf fortunate I was looking for others thing and came across this Gem!
